Cleveland County is home to two hospitals, Cleveland Regional Medical Center
and Kings Mountain Hospital. Both facilities are part of the Cleveland County
Health Care System. Cleveland Regional Medical Center, the first Level III
Trauma Center in North Carolina, is a fully accredited, not-for-profit medical
center equipped to handle all types of emergencies, twenty-four hours a day,
seven days a week. CRMC operates several Centers of Excellence including
Cleveland Regional Women’s Life Center, the Blumenthal Cancer Center, the
Cleveland Heart Center, the Diabetes Center, Cleveland Regional Rehab, and the
Joint Academy. CRMC is located in Shelby.
Kings Mountain Hospital serves the needs of the residents in the eastern part
of Cleveland County. Kings Mountain Hospital is a fully accredited, 102-bed,
not-for-profit hospital. The facility recently broke ground on an $8 million
construction project which will include approximately 27,000 square feet of new
hospital space and the renovation of more than 6,000 square feet. Upon
completion, the new hospital will cover a total of 116, 263 square feet, a 30
percent increase from its previous size. Both CRMC and Kings Mountain Hospital
are a part of the Carolinas Healthcare System.
In addition to the hospitals, the Cleveland County Health Care System
operates Cleveland Pines Nursing Center, Cleveland Home Health Agency, Hospice
of Cleveland County, CLECO, and Crawley Memorial Hospital in Boiling Springs.
Several other medical offices and clinics have recently moved into new
facilities. Cleveland Physical Therapy Associates, Miller Orthopaedic Clinic,
Shelby Children’s Clinic, and Shelby Medical Associates are just a few with new
offices. Shelby Women’s Clinic is constructing a new facility in Boiling
Springs.
The fastest growing segment of the population is senior adults. In Cleveland
County, we recognize the importance of caring for our elderly. Cleveland County
is home to The Leona Smith Neal Senior Center in Shelby and the H. Lawrence
Patrick Senior Life and Conference Center is in Kings Mountain. Both facilities
offer numerous programs to seniors.
For retired citizens and other members of the community, several
state-of-the-art assisted living facilities are available in Cleveland County.
Regardless of housing and healthcare needs, these centers are able to provide a
wide range of services to their clients.
The Life Enrichment Center provides adult day care for individuals 18 and
older. Recognized for innovation and quality, the LEC helps families cope with
caring for loved ones while working. Services are provided for adults with
physical and mental disabilities. The Life Enrichment Center has a facility in
Shelby and a new center in Kings Mountain.
The county is home to numerous clinics, physicians, dentists, and other
medical specialists. In Cleveland County, you can get the best healthcare
