Message from Economic Development

The Cleveland County area is a unique market that features outstanding quality of life, prestigious educational institutions, available labor and proximity to the major metro market amenities of Charlotte.  There is a strong coalition of community leaders committed to making Cleveland County a better place in which to live and work.  These leaders understand the importance of leveraging resources so the Cleveland County Chamber’s Economic Development department will meet its goals, stimulate the economy, create new jobs, and enhance the tax base.

The Chamber’s Economic Development team works diligently to ensure the county’s best interests are prioritized.  The professionalism, effort, and performance of this team is second-to-none, and will greatly benefit the citizens of Cleveland County as we work to recruit new industry and retain and expand existing industry in our community.

New industry recruitment is simply a strategic business drive model for job and investment creation.  However, we must not forsake these companies once they choose to locate in Cleveland County.  As a result, we employ an approach to help existing industries grow from within, lower their operating costs, and promote their future successes.  Small business growth and development offers additional opportunities for our community to “grow our own.”
