Leadership Cleveland County
Leadership
Cleveland County is a program sponsored by the
Cleveland County Chamber to develop informed,
committed, and qualified individuals capable of
providing dynamic and progressive leadership for
Cleveland County. It is an in-depth study of
personal and group leadership dynamics, involving
activities designed to illustrate positive
leadership opportunities.
Participation in the program leads to personal and
professional development, lasting friendships, and
good business contacts.
The John Maxwell book Developing the Leader
Within You will be a focus for most of the
leadership topics during the 2007-2008 program.
Participants are required to attend an all-day
retreat and eight of the nine full-day sessions.
Participants will be out of the office nine or ten
days during the program.
Participants are allowed only one absence from a
day event (one full day or two half-days). Any
absence from a Leadership Cleveland County event
should be reported to the Chamber in advance. Any
participant who does not fulfill the attendance
requirement will not graduate from the program.
The first Leadership Class began in 1989-90, and
the program has remained strong since that time.
For a list of previous Leadership participants who
may be able to serve on your organization’s
board, please contact the Chamber at (704)
