Text Box: InterAction Text Box: (Shelby, NC) – As you know, we have needed to have visitor information more accessible to the busy Highway 74 and be more centrally located between Kings Mountain and Shelby.  Recognizing that our Travel & Tourism Division is not at the stage where we can afford to have our own building yet, the Cleveland Mall has offered to donate a space in the mall for Visitor Information.  It gets even better!  Travel Lynx, who has seen the benefits of tourism promotion for years, has also joined this partnership by offering to assume all financial responsibility of the renovations of the donated space as well as provide office staff.  Travel Lynx will also be running the trolley out of this location and tickets will available at the front desk, as well as souvenir items.    Tourism director Jackie Sibley commented, “Until we are able to have our own Visitor Center here in Cleveland County this partnership is a great temporary solution.  We will have optimal visibility from the highway, be closer to the hotels and better able to serve Cleveland County with a location on the highway. The fact that two private industries are willing to make this commitment to Travel and Tourism in Cleveland County is phenomenal!  What a great county we live, work and play in!  It is such a privilege to represent a county that really does work together.”
