Leadership Cleveland County will begin its 19th year in September with the 2008-2009 program kickoff event in September. The participants will attend an orientation session to help prepare them for the program. Following the orientation, the participants will attend a reception, to which the nearly 200 alumni of the program are invited. Leadership Cleveland County is a program sponsored by the Cleveland County Chamber to develop informed, committed, and qualified individuals capable of providing dynamic and progressive leadership for Cleveland County. It is an in-depth study of personal and group leadership dynamics, involving activities designed to illustrate positive leadership opportunities.

Participation in the program leads to personal and professional development, lasting friendships, and good business contacts. The John Maxwell book Developing the Leader Within You will be a focus for most of the leadership topics during the 2008-2009 program.
