Travel Council Meetings
All Chamber members are welcome to attend Travel Council Meetings. Travel Council is a diverse group of event coordinators, attraction representatives, project managers, hotels, local, county, and state governments. A round table discussion is conducted with everyone in the meeting so that all know events planned, status of current projects, and how tourism promotion can help them.

Travel Council is a great networking opportunity that is open to all Chamber members. Join us for lunch at 12 noon. Lunch is provided at a cost of $6.00 per person unless lunch is sponsored.

Upcoming Meetings:
April 29 at Hallelujah Acres, Shelby - Lunch provided by Hallelujah Acres
July 29 at Harvest Works, Shelby
October 28 at J Oliver's Coffee Shop, Kings Mountain

Calling All Retired Personnel!!!
The Visitor Information Center has some fun volunteer opportunities for intelligent, willing retirees.  Volunteers will greet Cleveland County guests, give directions and assist with brochure distribution one day a week at the Visitor Information Center located at Cleveland Mall.  Volunteers will be rewarded with an annual trip on a Travel Lynx Charter Bus Tour and lunch for the day they work.  Volunteers will also be asked to help man the Visitor Information Tent at several events throughout the year including the American Legion Baseball Regional Championship and World Series and the Cleveland County Fair.  Tickets to the event will provided for the volunteers.

For more information or to schedule an interview contact Jackie Sibley at 704-482-7882 or Jackie@ClevelandChamber.org

Display Space Available at the Visitor Information Center
Furniture and/or antique stores in Cleveland County can display their furniture at the Cleveland Mall location for FREE!  We would like the Visitor Information Center to look and feel like a comfortable living room.  The store that supplies the furniture display will be advertised with a plaque that directs guests to visit your location to see the entire line of merchandise.  Frame Masters Gallery will be doing a display of furnishings and round out the décor with a professionally decorated look.  Frame Masters Gallery has already presented the new Visitor Information Center with a beautifully framed photograph of the Carrousel Horses from the Shelby City Park Carrousel.

The center will also have retail space for locally made items such as art, books written by local authors, post cards and various other items that showcase our area.
